Method
- Stir the butter and flour together in a saucepan over medium heat until the butter melts. Continue to stir and let it cook for a couple more minutes.
- Stir in the cocoa powder and a pinch of salt.
- Alternately stir in the sugar and milk, about a third at a time, until they are all incorporated.
- Cook until the gravy starts to thicken, stirring every so often. Be sure to scrape the corners and bottom of the pan.
- Once the gravy is the consistency of runny pudding, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
- Serve with biscuits.
